I wish I had a picture to go with this!
Shirley Temple Black wrote her superb autobiography, "Child Star," in 1988 (McGraw-Hill Publishing Company, New York) and included this description of Orson Welles on pages 283 - 284:
. . . Formal in his double-breasted suit coat and pleated trousers, he looked faintly Chinese with his oval face, jowls, scraggly beard, and crescent of drooping mustache. Only his voice was distinguished, deep and reverberating, each tone treasured.
. . .
I suggest you check it out in your library, only partly to see the photograph of Shirley Temple playing croquet with Orson Welles!!!
